Moving across the country to a new city is never easy and can be rather stressful. Time was of the essence for our family to find a new home and Myles helped us make this transition happen smoothly.
As a buyer I was extremely happy to have Myles Faulkner representing us in a rather difficult negotiation. The house we fell in love with had been on the market for a while and needed quite bit of repair that the house deserved. The seller was stuck at a price point and would not budge. With Myles’ great local resources we were able to present the owner with a honest set of renovation numbers substantiating our position and we quickly came to agreeable offer. Myles did not stop once the price was accepted though, he knew that we only had a very short period of time to clear any and all violations before they became our liability and set forth doing so. I think the highest compliment came from the seller’s real estate broker saying what a great job Myles did making the deal come to fruition.
I met Myles when my original Realtor went on maternity leave. He stepped in right away and we hit it off from the start. You could say I was somewhat of a “high maintenance” client as I was living in Los Angeles, but looking for a home in Portland. This was certainly a challenge, but Myles was helpful and upbeat the whole time. He quickly learned my tastes and was able to rule some prospects in and others out, as I needed to make the most of my brief visits to Portland to see properties. He was respectful of my time and availability – and dealt with my changing list of requirements without a single complaint. On several occasions he went to view properties that I had an interest in and then provided me with a report on its suitability. When we finally did zero in on a house, he made every effort to send me documents that I could review and sign electronically. His referrals for other services (mortgage broker, home inspector, contractors) were all first rate, which made my remote purchase go smoothly and I didn’t have to spend hours on the phone trying to find the right resource. I have no hesitation in recommending Myles to others in the market for a Realtor and would go back to him myself should the need arise.
We were really fortunate to find Myles as early as we did in our house-hunting process. As first-time homebuyers with many questions, concerns, and second-thoughts, it was important that we found somebody that had a wide breadth of knowledge about the area, the process, and the different ways we could go about finding a house for us.
Finding a house turned out to be easy, as Myles listened to our likes and dislikes, wants and needs, and zeroed in on quite a few houses that were really good fits for us. While anyone will tell you that selling one’s home is pretty high on the stress scale, working with Jules actually made the entire process almost enjoyable.
